Shaping the future, respecting the past

Chelverton Deeley Freed has submitted an outline planning application to South Gloucestershire Council, bringing plans for a mixed-use development at the former Barnhill Quarry site in Chipping Sodbury a significant step forward. The development proposals feature a Waitrose foodstore, direct pedestrian link to and from the High Street, and some 190 homes.

The proposals will transform the former Barnhill Quarry and bring significant benefits to the local community including improved shopping facilities, new employment opportunities with the potential for up to 160 jobs within the foodstore itself, and much needed housing.

The submission follows three rounds of extensive consultation with local people and stakeholders. Feedback from the public and key stakeholder groups has been very positive throughout, and Chelverton Deeley Freed would like to thank all of those who took part in the pre-application consultation process.

The outline planning application submitted 2 July 2010 has now been validated by South Gloucestershire Council. The application has been given the reference number PK10/1675/O. The application documents will be uploaded on to the Council’s website shortly and will be available to view online: http://www.southglos.gov.uk and follow the links to the planning section.
